American Indian Public Charter School

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

10-7-14

 

-The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by the site administrator, Dr. Clifford Thompson.

-An explanation of the function of an ELAC was provided (an Advisory committee to the Site Administrator in behalf of funded services for English learners).

-It is was stated that there are over 40 EL students at the middle school.  That number prompts the establishment of an ELAC.

-The guides mandated by the California Department of Education was provided.

-Alejandra Torres was nominated for President.  She was the only qualified person for the position.  She accepted and is now the president of the ELAC.

-Dr. Thompson discussed the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).  He stated that it is almost complete.  It has to be submitted in January of 2015. 

-The protocol for approval was discussed, which includes a review by the parents, signed by the School Site Council Chairperson, and approval by the Board.

-It was stated that all minutes will be written in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.

-The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.

Comité de Asesoría del Idioma de Ingles (ELAC)

• La reunión fue llamada a la orden a las 6:05 PM por el director, Dr. Clifford Thompson.

• Un explicación de la función del ELAC fue proveído. Un comité de asesoría al director en nombre de los servicios para estudiantes de aprendizaje de inglés.

• Fue dicho que tenemos más de 40 estudiantes que han sido clasificado con el aprendizaje de inglés. Esa cantidad requiere establecer un ELAC.

• Las guías de los mandados del Departamento de Educación de California fue proveído. 

• Alejandra Torres fue nominada para Presidente. Ella era la única persona calificada para la posición. Ella acepto y ahora es la nueva presidenta del ELAC.

• Dr. Thompson discutió el plan singular para logros de los estudiantes  (SPSA). El comunico que esta casi completo. Tiene que ser entregado enero del 2015.

• El protocolo para aprobación fue discutido, cual incluye el repaso de padres, firma del presidente de School Site Council, y la aprobación de la mesa directiva.

• Fue decidido que todos los minutos serán escritos en Ingles, Español y en Mandarín

• La junta fue aplazada a las 6:55 PM.

-- 据信有40多名来自初中的英文学生参与，这样的一个学生人数促成了英文咨询委员会的成立。

-- 提供加州教育厅要求的指南。

--阿勒建德拉.托雷斯提名为该委员会主席。她是唯一适合的人选。她接受了提名成为该委员会 主席。

-- 汤普森博士召集研讨学生成绩的单项计划（SPSA）。他申明该项计划马上完工，强调必须于2015年1月提交。

-- 讨论赞成方案，该方案包括学生家长总结并由校议会主席签名，以及校董事会批准。

-- 申明要求所有的会议时间分钟数都要由英文，西班牙文，以及中文显示。

-- 将于下午6：55休会。
